Novice FBI investigator heroine is assigned to work with resentful former top-FBI investigator Hero who was fired 3 yrs ago due to a botched investigation. Hero's assistance in the investigation was required by scrupulous kidnapper of a young child. During their pursuit of serial kidnapper's tracks, heroine tries to keep their relationship professional but their mutual attraction as well as a resurgence of her past trauma draws her closer to him.This Webb book had an exciting action-suspense part but was lacking in the romance area. Don't get me wrong. The romance was good overall & sexual chemistry & love scenes were electric. But the romance seemed suspended to make way for the fast-paced hunt for the killer & his victims. And, at the end, the culmination of their romance was rushed & not enough details. Another couple more pages that focused on their romance would've than the trick.
Recommended for the action-suspense.
