Rescue Me

Rescue Me - Cherry Adair, Lora Leigh, Cindy Gerard "Tropical Heat":
Small-town MT doctor is abducted by mistake by an African terrorist who wants her to perform facial plastic surgery on him ASAP. She gets rescued by Spec-Ops weapons trainer Hero who's had his eye on her since they 1st met 18 months earlier but wanted to give her sufficient space & time to get over her marriage. Their escape into the wild African jungle is riddled with danger & an explosive sexual chemistry.

This was the best of the 3. It had a steamy yet touching romance & fast-paced action. I really liked how Hero was so secretly obsessed with hard-working & likeable heroine yet was patient & considerate with her needs. He was a yummy alpha hero.

"Atlanta Heat":
Voluptuous heroine is rescued & placed in a safe house by Jr. Lieutenant Hero. They finally get a chance to consummate their previous flirtations & interrupted lovemaking from a few months ago. But heroine holds back due to her abandonment fears. Soon enough their strong physical attraction supercedes her fears. Their future together hinges on apprehending the culprit involved in heroine's kidnapping.

The best parts of this book were the hot sexual tension & sex scenes. I also liked that Hero stayed celibate for 2 years since they met b/c his fantasies were only of heroine & no other woman could substitute for her. What I didn't like as much was heroine's inconsistency. She acted like a sexual tease. She flirted aggressively with Hero yet pulled back when things get too intense for her. There was also an instance when she said that she didn't sleep around yet she didn't have a problem wishing she didn't feel so much for Hero b/c she can engage in casual sex with him like she did with her previous lovers. Hero's love for heroine seemed more based on her body than her character.

"Desert Heat":
Lawyer heroine has a history of clashing with police Hero. So they're both surprised that they like the facets they're discovering about each other during their hike in the Grand Canyon for a scavenger hunt. Their hiking adventure & their increasing attraction soon turns deadly as armed men catch up to them. They try to escape but realize that their best bet for survival was to turn the hunters into the hunted.

An average read. Romance gradually developed during their hike. There was more action-suspense in this book compared to the other 2 stories. It was engaging but it cut short the romance.

Recommended.
