Deadly Fear
FBI profiler heroine teams up with ex-lover Hero to search for the serial killer involved in recent murders of women in a small town. Sparks fly right away even though very controlled heroine tries to keep their r/s professional & focused on their case. Things heat up when the crimes takes a personal turn. Heroine gets threats from the serial killer who seems to know about her secret past. It shakes her well-built emotional walls & challenges her to risk trusting Hero with her fears & her life. This was a fast-paced & intriguing Eden romance-suspense. The romance b/w 2 former lovers was sizzling & touching. Both Hero & heroine have traumatic & unshared pasts that influenced how they dealt with their short affair in the past & how it's defined their FBI work expertise. Their 2nd chance at romance becomes inextricably linked to their case as well as their past traumas. It forces Hero & heroine to break out of their usual modus operandi & do something different. Hero was more frank & showed his vulnerabilities to heroine this time around. It was wonderful to see him so adamant about not letting heroine go this time & protecting her from danger at whatever cost. It was even more interesting to see heroine fight her inner battles for control. She was such a strong individual who needed someone as emotionally strong as Hero to deal with her heavy emotional issues. Sexual chemistry & sex scenes were hot.
