Surrender to a Wicked Spy (The Royal Four, Book 2)

Surrender to a Wicked Spy - Celeste Bradley Tall heroine is miffed that her brand-new husband didn’t court her let alone see her after their only meeting. Hero believes heroine with her average looks & good pedigree won’t distract him from his spying endeavors unlike his father. But she is more than what he expected and she isn’t shy about letting him know it. He is even surprised that his big problem isn’t scaring her away but instead is a welcome challenge for her.

If the spy stuff was written better, I’d have rated this book higher. The business with the Royal Four & such was boring so I skipped those parts. Hero’s big problem was much more interesting. But Hero & heroine discussing it & trying things to take care of the problem got too drawn it. There was only 1 fully-consummated sex scene after all that problem-solving. And I wondered how often they actually got to have complete intercourse after that if it took that much effort just to do it once.

I liked heroine’s hardiness & acceptance of her physical features. She didn’t feel insecure with them nor shy away from them. You had to take her like she was. Hero was attracted to her grit & sense of security. They both had a strong physical attraction to each other, with Hero becoming more & more lustful towards heroine. They balanced each other out & believe in their happily-ever-after. I just wonder about their sex frequency though.

Limited recommendation.
