Phantom Marriage (Harlequin Presents #591)

Exciting read with big questions of how Hero will react when he finds out that her 6yo twins are his kids & what exactly happened in his marriage to separate them 7 years ago as seemingly inevitable as it may have been. Good emotionality. I could feel heroine’s fears, angst, & hope since this book was written mostly from her POV. I could also sense Hero’s intense emotions even though they were largely unspoken & he tried to hide them. Their sexual chemistry was exciting especially with the forbidden aspect of it in the past & the current misunderstandings they had about each other. There’s some bodice-ripping a typical 80’s romance novel but it wasn’t overdone. Hero was pretty cruel with his judgments about her. This book would’ve a higher rating if Jordan added a sentence or 2 with Hero apologizing for misjudging her & appreciating the sacrifices she made to take care of their twins by herself.
Recommended.

There's technically no cheating in this book. Hero & his wife never had sex during their marriage of convenience. She blackmailed him into marriage & he'd been asking her for a divorce even before heroine came into the picture but she wouldn't agree until later.
