A Thorn in Paradise
23yo private nurse of wealthy & irascible old man is accused by her patient's estranged & handsome son of having ulterior motives re: his father. As much as she disputes his claims, businessman Hero still believes that someone as young & attractive as she must be hiding something to work at such a remote locale. Their interactions are passionate: in their arguments & simmering attraction. The arrival of Hero's female friend both serves as a reprieve & a kindling to their fiery r/s.There was some funny & engaging moments in this Williams' book. Heroine's comebacks & thoughts were sarcastically funny. I liked this heroine b/c she was able to laugh at herself & didn't take others' opinion of her too seriously. She also had a backbone & wasn't easily provoked. I liked seeing how Hero's reluctant attraction to heroine unraveled his control of his emotions & life. It was emotionally involving & had good sexual chemistry. The only part I didn't like was the ending. It was too rushed. Hero discussed his part of their Big Misunderstanding but heroine didn't.
