Dance For Me (Fenbrook Academy #1)

Dance For Me (Fenbrook Academy #1) - Helena Newbury 21yo ballet student agrees to dance privately for 24yo millionaire engineer Hero who’s hiring her to be his muse to finish his creation. His intense staring evokes her to dance freely. Their affair is intense & emotional with much left unspoken. Both agree to not talk about their pasts as they see the other struggle with it. But as they see each other’s scars neither can help but bring it up. What does their talking about their painful pasts do to their relationship?

I read this book in 2 hours. It was that engrossing. The main characters had depth. Both were psychologically damaged by a past trauma & been trying to cope with it on their own since then. Their coping mechanisms have aided them yet also done some damage along the way. Hero & heroine moved me emotionally. I could feel their hurt & their determination to survive the continued nightmares they have about their past. Their past & their relationship collide at some point in the story & it becomes the turning point for them. I liked the growth we see in the main characters. It’s one that comes from pain & great challenge & they both chose well. I liked that they were not written off as magically being cured of their pain or even their love as the cure-all. Their decision at the end was described as a beginning of their process of healing. And they were going to heal together. Their HEA(happily ever after) is likely.

Their romance was both poignant yet sensual as well. Their sexual chemistry added to their emotional connection. The sex scenes were done well. For a less than 150-page book, this was a worthwhile read.

Well Recommended.
