Beautiful Disaster

Beautiful Disaster - Laura Spinella Interior designer heroine gets a call from her ER-doctor friend that her long-lost ex-boyfriend is in surgery due to a major accident. Hero is in a coma & she spends every free time she has with him & doesn't tell her husband of 2 years about it. She remembers their intense 1-year r/s & his sudden disappearance from her life 12 years ago. Even though she knows nothing of his life since or whether he'll ever gain consciousness, seeing Hero again makes her realize that she never stopped loving him & can't continue with her marriage. Both her husband & best friend try to convince her otherwise and they do the same for Hero when he got better. What will heroine & Hero decide?

This was a well-written romance. The ongoing emotional impact of the book kept me riveted from the 1st page to the very last. It was poignant & heart-wrenching. The main characters' past r/s was told as reminisces of the present. It was done smoothly & gave a very strong case for why Hero & heroine should be together despite their 12-year separation. The characters were portrayed realistically. There were no villains in the story but only people in heroine's life who made flawed decisions b/c they cared for her. Moral dilemmas added to the poignancy of the story & made the characters' actions & decisions not so black-&-white. Good sexual chemistry & love scenes.

Confidently recommended.
